Special Features

There are excellent restaurants in the Sooke area, from our "local" 17 Mile House Pub, to Fuse, a casual family friendly waterfront location, and Stonepipe Grill in the town centre, to Markus' Wharfside, a special Mediterranean style restaurant overlooking the Sooke Harbour, and of course, the famous Sooke Harbour House and its specialty, ever changing menus.

The Dining Room

Sally's fabulous breakfasts are served in the dining room overlooking the extensive gardens. A home made Granola, freshly squeezed orange juice, home preserves, an abundance of fresh fruit (local and exotic) and a.m. baked scones or muffins just start your full breakfast feast which may last you 'til dinner. The omelettes, pancakes, french toast, eggs "Markham" receive rave reviews.
The dining room is a bit of a showcase for the family antiques from Europe and the Orient. Some soft music, some good food and delightful conversation should start your day off in style.

Hot Tub Gazebo

Before breakfast or in the evening, please feel free to enjoy the full size Hot Tub in its Gazebo overlooking the forest and the trout pond. After, a cup of coffee or a glass of your favorite beverage on the patio will make a wonderful beginning or end to your day.

Natural Wonders...

While in Sooke, take the time to explore the natural wonders of the area. Visit East Sooke Regional Park, one of the finest marine parks overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Take the day trip to Botanical Beach and its crashing “stormwatching” waves, and at low tide, explore the fascinating tidal pools. On your way, to or from; make a stop at Point no Point restaurant for a delightful tea overlooking the Olympic Mountains in Washington State.
You won’t want to miss a leisurely walk or cycle on the Galloping Goose Trail which extends from the B.C. Ferry Terminal in Swartz Bay over 60 Kilometres to the now demised gold rush town of Leechtown in the Sooke Hills. The Sooke section of the trail is the most beautiful as it wends it’s way around Sooke Harbour.
